This diagram of languages really is astonishing, and there are only a limited number of languages even shown. It is an example of evolution, yet it connects us with our roots. If the world is thus connected, with such obvious ancestry, it is odd how certain nations can claim superiority. Techniqually we are all equal and the common base of our languages prove that.
Isn't it funny how Latin is the base for all of the romance languages, but yet each is slightly different. I think it is odd that most of those regions did not continue to speak in Latin. Why would a society just give up in a language and move to another dialect. I geuss it could be seen as a diffusion of cultures like you see in the U.S.
